Right now in Bangladesh it is Late Autumn (হেমন্ত)

Six seasons. 700 rivers. Your next trip.

Pothiik plans trips across Bangladesh for people who love to travel. Tell us where you want to go, and we take care of the rest.

Most countries have four seasons. We have six.

Bangladesh changes its face every two months. Choose a season to see what it is like and where to go.

Things you can only do here

Our favourite moments from the road. Every one of them can be part of your trip.

  • Look for a tiger in the mangroves

Spend nights on a boat in the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest on earth, with forest guards and local guides.

  • Row through a flooded forest

In the rainy season Ratargul stands deep in water. You glide between the trees in a small wooden boat.

  • Wake up above the clouds

In Sajek Valley the clouds sit below the hill at sunrise. Bring a warm cup of tea and just watch.

  • Shop at a floating market

In Barishal, farmers sell guava and vegetables straight from their boats on the canals.

  • Drink tea where it grows

Walk the green tea gardens of Srimangal and try the famous seven layer tea.

  • See a mosque city from the 1400s

The Sixty Dome Mosque in Bagerhat is a UNESCO World Heritage site and still a place of prayer.

Come hungry. Leave happy.

Food is half the trip in Bangladesh. These are the dishes our travellers ask for again.

Kacchi biryani

Old Dhaka

Mutton, rice and potato cooked slowly together in one sealed pot. The wedding favourite.

Shorshe ilish

Chandpur and Barishal

Hilsa, the national fish, cooked in a sharp mustard sauce. Best in the rainy season.

Bhapa pitha

Winter evenings

Soft steamed rice cakes with date palm molasses inside, sold hot from street stoves.

Bhorta and rice

Every home

Five or six spicy mashes around a plate of rice. Simple, and better than most restaurants.
